Fire in Barcelona in Gaudi church!

 

About 1,500 tourists were forced to evacuate from the famous Sagrada Familia church in Barcelona, due to fire which is believed to be arson.

Firefighters extinguished the fire before it reached the works in stone, Antonio Gaudi, but some parts still somewhat damaged, reports AFP.

Police believe the fire is responsible for the “disturbed” man who kindled the fire in the sacristy, which was at that time was closed to the public.

Several tourists have been seen by suspected lighting a church clothes and utensils in the room next to the altar, and called the police.

“It seems that this was a 55-year-old disturbed man who was found which several cigarette lighters,” he told reporters the president of the Foundation Sagrada Familia Juan Rigol.

The church is on the list of world heritage by UNESCO.

About 1,500 tourists were evacuated, and four employees who worked on the church were admitted to hospital for smoke inhalation.

Church of the 19th century is one of the most famous tourist sites in Spain.
With its eight towers decorated with Venetian mosaics and facades on which the scene of birth and death, the church impresses visitors for years.

Inside, a forest of white columns rising 60 feet in the air and divides into branches which then spread across the ceiling with gold and green mosaics.

Gaudi has 40 years working on this church, which was the culmination of his career, completely devoting her 15 years of his life during which he lived in a small house near the church.
